Parents,

Just a reminder that next Friday, October 25, we will be traveling to Pinecrest Conference and Retreat Center in Lagrange, Tennessee.  Due to the cost of charter buses and lunches we need each student to contribute $15.  This money needs to be turned in no later than this Friday October 18.

Spelling Lists

I have posted a NEW spelling week for weeks 9 and 10.  Please discard the previous lists for weeks 9 and 10.  The students will receive a printed copy of these lists.

The Khan Academy

We want to make you aware of a website, The Khan Academy, that offers free math tutorials. (Other content areas are also featured on this website- humanities, science, and economics and finance.)  Even if this website doesn’t fully benefit your child this year, it may help later on in algebra, trigonometry, etc.  There are videos and practices that your child can use to supplement the concepts being taught in the classroom.  You can also monitor what your child is working on.  The Khan Academy was recently featured on 60 Minutes.  The website is www.khanacademy.org.
